Experience

JUNE 2016 - PRESENT
BNY Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA - Senior UX Designer

  • I developed, organized, and facilitated stakeholder design discovery sessions. In these sessions, I collaborated with stakeholders to identify their needs and transfer knowledge with methods such as affinity diagramming and compression planning.
  • I conducted user research including contextual inquiry, interviews, and usability testing in order to determine user needs, journeys, and goals.
  • I created, presented, and user-tested interactive prototypes. The feedback I received from stakeholders, users, and developers contributed to an iterative process to create designs that meet both user and business needs.
  • I evangelized design within BNY Mellon by promoting design thinking at all levels of the organization. I hosted design thinking workshops that are available to all at BNY Mellon.

MAY 2015 - AUGUST 2015
NPR, Washington, DC - UX Intern

  • I used research methods including interviewing, card sorting, and contextual inquiry to better understand the workflow and needs of the Public Radio Satellite System program schedulers in order to design a new scheduling system for live radio content.
  • I designed and conducted usability tests on prototypes for a new scheduling system. The design was implemented and put into production.

AUGUST 2014 - MAY 2016
Indiana University Bloomington, IN - Associate Instructor

  • I managed a classroom and lab sessions, led discussions, and created and taught modules surrounding social informatics and human computer interaction.

Bio

I love crisp, clear, cold mornings, cats, and good food.

I started my academic journey as a graphic designer, then became a musician, then an anthropologist.

Then, I swung around to UX/interaction design, and I'm so excited to be here! I'm ready to start solving problems (wicked or not) through human-centered design by teaming up with designers, other professionals, and even users.

Let’s go on an adventure!
